Real Submarine Manual (Read Here if Interested)

Well I again would like to give back to the community by sharing a place that I have found online that discussing submarine parts and operation. It is a old submarine manual that was unclassified and posted online. I must say that before getting SH3 I never really thought about submarines very much but now after getting into SH3 I have been doing a ton of research on the way these beast were operated. This manual has been a little friend to me and explains in great detail ALL aspects of submarine functions. I encourage anyone who wishes to understand exactly how much work goes into simply pulling away from a dock or determining a contacts course using the hydrophone to check this out. Now I believe all functions are based on the US Class submarine so not all parts of the German subs are found but it is as close as I have found online.

I have used many of the phrases and orders in my story on the U-66 to make it more realistic.

Again highly recommend reading the submarine manual next time you have free time on your patrol there is a ton of work going on behind the scenes that the movies and SH3 forget, and im a person of detail as you may have read.

Some of these things may also help in actually playing the game especially the section on the hydrophone operation.

I am putting in a request to have this stickied so all forum user can look at it during there own time. It is an important document that can used for either SH3 or future SH4.
Hopefully other community members will agree with the stick request
