I was reading through the Grey Wolves 1.1a documentation and under 'known issues' it mentions no credit being awarded for sunken ships bug that is caused by upgrading your u-boat prior to your first patrol. Does this cover recruiting extra crewmen as well? It's just that it has happened to me and the only thing I did was add extra crew to my boat.

Capt,
I'm not sure about this; however with the SH3CMDR damage, you should take your boat out on a shakedown cruise and test your boat. When you dock, then start your patrol, but retest your boat as a new damage/sabotage might occur. This is especially true late in the war. This is how it worked in the real world anyway. It gets around the issue of no credit for which there is no answer.

It's a known bug with the game that if you upgrade anything before your first patrol you will receive no Renown for that patrol. Included already in the "read-me" file for grey wolves...states that for your first patrol you should NOT upgrade anything, this includes extra submariners, it does state that you "Might" get away with upgrading your sub emblem, but to be on the safe side...
1. First patrol(Shakedown)>>>>>NO UPGRADES !!!! 2. Subsequent patrols always upgrade just BEFORE you leave port, this also applies to giving out promotions and medals, and recruiting new men...... Don't ask me way it has to be this way, I just read the "Readme's" and follow its advice And I have never got back to port and NOT received credit for my patrol sinking's As to Irish1958's reply that is also true if you are using SH3CMDR 2.6 as it contains a sabotage/malfunctions mod which mimics enemy resistance efforts to disable the U-Boot arm of the navy....So you must always whilst leaving port especially later in the war TEST your machinery.... Periscope/Obs scope.....Diesels....E motors Dive planes ETC ETC as any one or more of these systems/subsystems may not be working, slightly disabled or totally fubar'd.... Deep Six

Thanks for the replies. I did manage to recover my sunk ships credit by loading an earlier save, saving again after checking my log to ensure that the sunk ships were recorded correctly and then returning to port.
I have added more crewmen to my u-boat in the past before my first patrol without this problem arising, so it must be one of those intermittent bugs. Nemo |
