I remember a post some time ago that provided a method to determine a ship's speed using your sonar-I beleive by counting the roations heard. I could not find it and would apprecate it if someone could point me to this. Thanks!

If your using TGW mod, forgetaboutit, they've changed the prop sounds, but, if not, look it up under the author "greyrider".

When you say TGW do you mean Grey Wolves?? If so than that would explain why I cannot chart proper speeds cause I have been trying to do this via hydropphone for a while now---dammit why did they change that? would have been cool to be able to do...well iguess ill stop wasting my time..you did mean grey wolves right?

Try reinstalling the old sound files. If you are using the mod enabler you can just go in to the backup folder and dig the ship sounds out of there.

How do I install just the original sound files? Do I have to do a full install and then copy from that or can I access it straight from the SH3 DVD?

You can still determine a ships speed if you know its distance and heading by taking a couple of readings at known intervals measure the distance between the readings then calculate the time it took (shrug).
