That, looks like a speed/distance chart.
Since you don't know what it is, im assuming you don't know how to use it. Let's say you get a report of a convoy travelling at 7 kts. What you do is go to this chart, look at 7 Kts, and then look at the time. For example, off the top of my head, a 7 kt target will travel 13 KM in 1 hour. So if i have a radio contact like this, and its close, ill look at this chart, look at it speed, and then grab the number for the time traveled. To expand on this, lets say its not close. Lets say your target is traveling at 12 kts, and you know his course. How far will he have traveled in 6 hours? Go to your chart, look at 12 kts, and then look under the time colum. That will give you your answer. Let say its 600 KM. Then you use your compass and draw a 600KM circle. That gives you his projected position, 6 hours hence - unless he zigs on you. Ok so you know his present position, have an idea on his course, and NOW you have an idea where he'll be in 6 hours. Can get into that position before he does? Thats when you go back to that chart, take your maximum speed, and see how far you can get in 6 hours. If its greater then the 600KM im using in this example, that means you can intercept him and be there before he is. |

NYGM also has this chart. If you have one of the mods and can't find it it's probably "hidden" on the map-view somewhere to the top-left corner of the screen.
