Greetings All

Have recently bought the game and have managed to get through the Barents Sea Loiter Mission.

Found this forum and decided that if Im going to learn to do it right then this is the place to be.

Can forum members please give me a pointer in the route that I should go in getting the max enjoyment out of the game. This is the naval sim Ive bought since Microprose RSR (and I was good at that!!)

Cheers in advance

Each platform is different. Air has its own unique aspects of gameplay, as does surface and sub. Most people say to start with the Helo, since its the simplist of the platforms and you can get used to the keys/interface from their. After that the subs are pretty straightforward. I'ld say that the Orion is probably the next easiest to master, and then of course the FFG is always good whenever you need a diversion from the other platforms.

Since this is a simulator, but with cheats .... you can get enjoyment out of the game in several ways. MP is always fun (if you like online play) but remember that almost all MP games (including MMOPGs, Sims, etc) will have a bit of a "gamey" feel to them. Multistation play might be something you may enjoy (several players on the same platform, but controlling different stations) and might lend you some tips to how to get better.

Its always fun to put on the cheats (show truth) and blast the heck outta everything. And test your weapons (missiles, torps) against different platforms too see how they stack up). You can also get a feel for what your weapons can do this way.

Of course the funnest part of the game (to some) is when you strap-on the captains uniforms for real (no cheating) and let your wits guide you. Learning the techniques to get you to your objective with mission complete. This will demand the most mastery of the platforms, and each type of mission (strike, recon, SAG hunt, escort, offense, or defense) will carry its own lessons. Play and play-on to get better at the variety of mission types, and once you feel comfortable with one platform, see it from the other side with another platform. Of course everyone has their favorites.

The CADC always has good tips for you to read up on from experience players with proven tatics, so read up.

And of course once you feel like tweaking the game itself to your own liking you can always DL the mod tools from SubGuru's website and have a go at customizing stats to your liking.

Those were some vague points to a open-ended questoin, but hope it helps.
