Default Reloading time in A IIA

I would like to know how long it is supposed to take to reload a tube in a IIa with an average team in the torpedo compartment.

It seems to be very long!!

Default Recommendation

Interesting post for someone with over two hundred posts.

I would recommend, and it took me awhile to think of this.

With your left hand, hold your wristwatch, now with your right launch a torpedo, now focus on the watch face, and count the number of seconds that go by before the green light comes back on.

This cant just be me whos a little tired of the trollers.

One must look at one's own post before accusing others of trolling...

Are you running GW with the 24-hour crew fatigue model? If so check out http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...torpedo+reload or the GW sticky thread.

Otherwise I would suggest about 8 minutes - a search of the forum should confirm.

To avoid typical responses like the above, you may also like to add more context or detail behind your question, because it is pretty broad and open to interpretation.

I thought it was a reasonable question.....

reason I'm asking this is because after 5 days of patrol (and now being back at Kiel after my first patrol), the three torpedoes I fired where moved from the stored compartment to the torpedo tubes but the light still red on all three.

May be somebody who's using the IIA can answer me

Thank you

At the extreme risk of asking a stupid question, what is wrong wih hovering the mouse arrow over the tube(s) being loaded and reading the "pop-up" text box which will show "loading in mm.ss" and be counting down or maybe "torpedo in queue for loading" if you are still rigged on silent running, or iirc "insufficient crew etc"

I'm running U-46 which is a VII-B in July 40 but I'm sure it was the same in the IIA U-5.

Of course you may be running different patches to me as I have not updated the game too much.

Its not the Boat that takes long , it depends on your Crew thats working in that compartment : Amount, If they are Rested or Tired, Experience.

IF you check the Green bar above the Torpedo Bow you can check the the activity of that compartment.. my average in the IIA was 11 minutes (all the free Crewmembers + the Watch Officer.)

I would almost be willing to bet you set silent running then forgot to unset it. Its a common mistake newer players make, When your silent running all repairs/damage control, and torpedo reloads stop for the duration. Even vets sometimes make that mistake (i know a few times ive wondered why my crew wasnt repairing anything or reloading only to remember i was in silent running mode).

Typicaly reloading a tube takes 8-20 minutes depending on the mod and efficency level of the compartment. That is for each tube (they can only reload one at a time so if you have 3 it will take 8-20 for the first 16-40 for the second and 24-60 minutes for the last).

With both supermods there have been problems with Type IIA reloads. No matter how many crew or how qualified, the green bar never gets high enough, torpedoes are always "waiting in queue for loading".

This might help-I don't remember the answers:

They will never reload until you change your config file: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=95549

That's the same link as bigboywooly's. And I think you're right; that is the solution.
