Default Very atmospheric

I'm getting on in years and my eyesight is not what it used to be. To see the screen as clearly as possible I prefer playing SH3 with the room lighting dimmed very low while still allowing me to see the keyboard as I'm a definite two finger typist. I even tried a red light bulb in a lamp but it was not enough to let me see the keys. Last week I spotted a Saitek Eclipse backlit keyboard with red backlighting instead of the usual blue. It arrived yesterday and what a difference it makes: I can now play in total darkness and it really does improve the game atmosphere and what I can see onscreen, especially when patrolling during the hours of darkness and trying to identify the flag that merchant is flying. Highly recommended, and not just for short sighted ancient mariners!

(Thanks to all of the modders for their work.)

That sounds like a great idea. Now even the desktop Kaleun can literally 'Rig for red!'

Dim red lighting. That would be a nice touch.

I believe that red is the one they call the red Night-Vision, special edition.

Coming soon, they'll have the Saitek II which has choices of blue, red or purple backlighting.

Now if I could get something in wireless, I'll be set.

I bought something they called the expert version at the store. It had blue lighting and it worked really well. The expert version of it made me return it to the store the next day...I though I was quite an expert about computer stuff...but to maybe I´d call it relief I realized I am no supernerd afterall...the keyboard was blank...not a single symbol on it...lol...so now I use the red lightbulb and very thin logitech wireless keyboard and mouse...also makes it possible to hide from the highly sensitive visual sensors of HMS Wifey during nighttime.
