Manual Tdc!!!!

I have struggled using Manual TDC in Silent Hunter 2 how on earth do you use it?
Ok so you have to set the dials to the appropriate range, speed, bearing, but what about the AOB? how do you calculate this without using the weapons officer spreadsheet and obtain a firing solution?

Apparently the equation for obtaining AOB is

Bearing (thats true bearing) - heading (of enemy) = x -/+ 180

is this the correct equation? it doesn't seem to work or is only working on very rare occaisons perhaps luck of the draw i'd like to know what i am doing wrong any help would be appreciated!

You don't need to calculate AOB in SH2....that's only in SH3 and because the Dev Team got it wrong and copied the US TDC (But with no position keeper).

To make a good shoot in SH2 just input manually target bearing, heading & speed...that's all

ok there seems to be a terminology confusion here i said AOB i meant the actual heading of the target how do you find that?

Rephrasing the previous question not the 'heading' but what do you do with the larger inner needle on the target position dial? and out of interest what is it? cheers

p.s. to clarify this is for the manual tdc and how to use it

ok cheers for that it is the heading then added or subtracted from the true bearing or either way yes i can now use manual TDC cheers!
