Default Window's Spyware Protection

Anyone ever use the new Window's Defender, that MS is advertising as its new spyware checker?

http://www.microsoft.com/athome/secu...e/default.mspx

Right now I'm using Adware, but heck, no one knows window's like MS itself, so I'm thinking about switching.

Don't switch Deathblow just add it on, I got window's defender and Adware along with Spybot between the three of them I remove all that spyware off my system. I run them one after the other that way you cross check the PC. If one of them misses something one of the other two will pick it up.

I just downloaded it and its pretty simple to use.... except I can't figure out how to webupdate the darn thing manually instead of those darn automatic updates that have a tendency to pop up at the most inconvient times.

I tried the WD first beta and it went well, when i updated to the beta 2 i deleted it because it never gave me an option to run or turn off it just automatically started up and hid itself somewhere in the background, no icon on the taskbar either. I use a program called "Whats running" that shows you everything running on your pc, WD was running. I thought that was too sneaky as i like to be able to switch a program on off whenever i wish. So i nuked it.

Wouldn't that cause massive collateral damage to other software. I thought a software smartbomb would have sufficed.

Seriously though using a trio of anti-spyware programs seems to make a great deal of sense. Certainly it would seem to lessen the possibilty of a single spyware checker missing something.

I highly recommend Spysweeper. It's my primary defense, though I run Adaware, Spybot, and MS Defender also. Before Spysweeper, I would get between 20-30 traces a week. Now I get 1-3 a month. Most PC magazines rate Spysweeper at the top as well.
