Default Type II (G7e)

Reading the manual and in-game notes regarding torpedo types, I found...

"The standard torpedo of the war. It suffered from early problems with its internal depth-keeping equipment, and its firing pistol but these were solved after the Norwegian Campaign."

Not being a history buff, I have no idea when the Norwegian Campain was. Are they OK to use after a certain date, or are they fine from '39 onwards.

So far, I prefer the "Type I" as I find the speed settings allow more fredom.

The Norwegian Campaign was when Germany invaded Norway in 1939 and won. I don't think the torpedo changes with the time, though.

If you mean in terms of the detonator pistols, I'd say so...just tried to torpedo a lone C3 cargo last night in the English Channel, and I was about ready to start cursing...fired 3 type IIs at the sucker (850 meters) and all three of them were duds. I think I'm going to have a chat with the ordinance department when I get back to Kiel...
