Dead in a fist fight???

Playing with GW+NYGM and SH3commander and when loading the game earlier today I got amessage that one of my most decorated and experienced petty officers had been killed in a bar fight... While this is realism indeed I wonder where I can look at the settings for these occurences? Just curious

Another question, ever since installing NYGM I have not been able to use the rudder indicator to set the rudder to an indicated position (like 20Â° port) so I've had to press "hard to starboard/port" to make turns or keep selecting a new course. Anyone know a fix for this?
