It's just so silly to browse trough the Recognition manual in 1939 and find tonnes of ships that haven't been invented yet

To be frank, the recognition mannuals are one of the major compromises from reality in SHI through SHIII
To have such accurate data on the heights of masts etc on a particular ship in a convoy would have been practically impossible. Instead, the captain would have been expected to guess the height and use a spread of torpedos to compensate for innacuracy. Question is, can there be a compromise for a game played out on a computer screen.

Realism option?
At the very least, make it dynamic, leaving out those damned not-yet-existing ships.

Hi,
I ignore the fact that 1944 ships appear in 1939. Annoying, yes, the end of the world? No. It shouldn't be difficult to fix though: get the sim to select the appropriate recognition book based on the date, the same way as Grammarphone records are selected (these can be date-based). One for SHIV. --TangoShadow |
