Default Torp Reload

Ok.. so i know i'm gonna catch flack for this. But I have the GW mod right. But my torp reloads are amazingly SLOW. Is there a cfg file somewhere that I can change my reload times or a mod i can download to do it for me.?

How slow is slow?

Depends on how much crew you put in torpedo room(s) and how experienced they are - qualifications are boosters..

So it can take approx. 10-20 minutes reloading one torpedo.

With full efficiency, reloading a torpedo in the front torpedo room takes me less than 8 minutes. GW 1.1, VIIB, realistic reloading times.

before I installed the GW patch, my reloading time was like 2 minutes for all 6 tubes. I like play'n SH3, but when the reload time is like 8-10 minutes then I just get board and shutdown... so just tell me how I can change the reload speed please.

Did you check your realism settings to see if 'realistic reload times' is unchecked?

yeah, i checked the setting, it's unchecked. I used to play w/another patch for multiplayers and reload was quick. When I updated to the GW patch, it is insanley slow. I'm really not look'n for much realism in the torp area, everything else is fine

The reload times are part of the mod. The mod is based on realism.

IMHO when you add 1 bit of realism, the fun factor takes a hit. Its a fact.

Want real reload times? Then prepare to go get a coffee while you wait.

Want real amounts of dud torpedoes? Prepare to only get 4-5 kills per patrol.

Want realistic ship sinking times? Time compression is your new best friend. Along with your buddy - the merchant you just torpedoed. You are gunna baby sit that mother either until it sinks or you give up waiting and pump it full of lead or put another 'eel' in its guts.

Sure realism can be added without too much of a fun factor loss, but some mods just go way beyond the boundaries with realism and turn play into your second job.

ok, well then how does one uninstall the GW mod w/out completely screw'n up the game. I only get to play maybe once a week, and w/that long of a reload it's not time efficient for me lol

Have you turned realistic reload times off and also ensured that you get maximum ammount of men in the torpedo rooms at reload times.

I find that I get a new torp every 3 min that way.

The 8 to 12 minutes is the normal reload time. Just time compress x64 for the reloading. That'd be my solution.

Most of the time i go out for a patrol i come back with extra torpedo's because they wont reload. what other reason could there be for not reloading? I put more than enough crew in and my u-boat is undamaged. When i check the reload time it tells me waiting in queue. This does not always happen but like i said most of the time i return with 5 fish.

I have duds on not sure bout realistic loading but that only makes it take a little longer? could this be a bug with my installation?

People often forget to secure from silent running during a cruise...torpedoes aren't loaded when running silent.

P.S.: I always play with realistic reloads, meaning a torpedo will be reloaded in 8 minutes at 100% efficiency and only one tube can be loaded simultaneously. I like it, makes me think differently about tactical situations.

Kind regards,

Eichenlaub

Cool thanks, I saw it on another thread. Thanks for the confirmation.

I bought this game on an impulse. It was on special so I thought what the hell. I had no idea what I was getting my self into. Most exciting game I’ve played in a long time.
