Default GW+NYGM+UC questions

I recently set up sh3 to run with GW1.1. Ran one mission of an already existing campaign and it worked fine. Absolutely loved that mod!

After that mission, continuing with this campaign I decided to add the NYGM tonnage war mod with the extended unified campaign. On this patrol I am noticing some not so good changes...

First of all my watch crew cannot spot anything. Twice, in absolutely clear weather has a destroyer been within 1500 meters and shooting at us and the crew didn't say anything until shells started landing in or near the sub. I was only running in TC16-64 which should not be a problem + the bridge was fully manned.

Second of all, all the fun radio messages of other uboats have disappeared. I have been on this patrol for three days but not a single message.

Is it likely that with all these mods I should just abandon this career (on my 11th patrol... ) and start a new one, or are there some known fixes?

Thanks a bunch for the help! The mods look excellent.

Ps. bagged a destroyer in NYGM with a critical hit... the torpedo (set to magnetic) detonated directly under her (5m) and the thing blew to pieces in one magnificent explotion... since these hits are supposed to be harder with NYGM I felt proud... "take that clemson!!!" hehe

First problem, see this:

Second problem- Don't scrap your career, its an easy fix. The file in question is data/Campaigns/Campaign/messages_en (or_de or _fr depending on your language). Just replace that file with the one you like better.

As for getting down with one torpedo - basing on my expieriences, you were really lucky. Soch blow happens sometimes, but usually one torpedo does not solve the problem.

Good to know before implementing the upgrade on my own.
