Default A crazy idea for a patrol.

First you use Tonnage War's terrain add in. So you have the kiel canal, suez canal, etc.

Take an IXC to southern africa. Refuel via milk cow.
Then go loiter in the indian ocean, resupplying in penang.

For the return trip, run the suez canal.
Now the kicker is, getting into the med. Isn't there an allied naval base like right at the opening? Waters shallow as hell there too.

Nevermind that, lets pretend you acutaly make it into the med.
Then run gibralter submerged (not historicaly possible from that direction, but what the hell, lets do this) and break into the atlantic.

THen return to base in lorient.

I wonder if i could pull that off :hmm:

Well...maybe it IS madnes,but if u r luckz enough...who knows?!
And it is also important what mod do u have and what year of the game is..in 1940 u can do that i think easily...In 1944 IF u manage to get to mediteran i tip my hat down to you and your brave crew

Yup. Behaves just like a milk cow. Ive ran a few patrols out of there.

An IXD2 can leave from france and get to penag without a milk cow, but i think your sucking fumes when you get there. But that boats just too big. Id opt for an IXC. but that means you need a milk cow.

You'd have to plan your trip so that.
A.) Penang is under japans control
b.) there is a milk cow in the south atlantic.

I was wondering that Idea next time am on patrol in the cape area go and do a exploration to penang and thought do a short cut through suez but then there's a problem that little british base called Alexandra and were's there a Naval base there sure as hell will be airbases so is it possible to navigate the suez at pd? and is actually possible to break out from the med into the atlantic?
I'd love to know before I try it out.

Those are your two biggest concerns.

If you look CLOSELY at the suez canal, theres a small channel that breaks off to the right while the other one runs right next to alexandria. This crossing is going to be the toughest. Im guessing all the water there is 12 meters.

My thought would be to lay on the bottom of the canal, wait for dark, then make a high speed run, with all guns manned. OR, try a submerged exit at night. 12 meters is just enough if the weather is calm.

Assuming you get passed this, your next big hurdle is EXITING gibralter on the atlantic side. Your going to be low on O2, and Batteries so you HAVE to surface, and allied air cover is thick there.
