Do you have Win98/Me compatability checked in the properties?

No problem! I love this game and NWS has done an great job with it. Don't forget to download the additional scenerios created by their community.

For the record, the reason for the crash every time you tried to change course is because of the XP Service Pack 2 and Direct X 9.0c. Both introduced a bug that cause that problem after installing either or both. Since FS is essentially abandonware now, the only fix, other than uninstalling SP 2 and/or Dx 9, is to install FSP.
