Default Ubisoft problems.

Hi to all you subsimmers out there.

I cut my 'simming teeth on SH1 & SH2 and AOD. Having stumbled on Subsim.com I was hoping to get to grips with SH3, ordering it from Ubisoft here in the UK on 1st March last. (Don't ask me why I didn't go to Amazon . . .brainstorm I guess!) They took my money on 8th March, but five weeks on there was still no sign of SH3! I e-mailed them and got a stock "2-3 weeks delivery" reply. A week ago I mailed the on-line store and got no reply. I've now told them that if they don't get back to me by the weekend, they can consider the order cancelled, I will be instructing my CC issuer to recover the money and be reporting the matter to Trading Standards.

Nine weeks on and nothing to show!!!

Anyone else had this kind of problem?

Don't they have an EB Games or equivalent in Liverpool?

I only order on-line if the site specifically says that the item is "in stock" and "ships in one day". Never, in eight years of on-line shopping, have I had a problem this way (touch wood).

Oh, I tell a lie. Bloody CD Universe has me waiting now while Capitol fixes their Beatles Box Set #2 pressing fault.

Default Hi JScones.

Like I said, brainstorm!

We do have a 'Game' store in Liverpool, but I'm disabled and find it less stressful to shop online.

To put things into perspective, I've placed hundreds of orders online and only had problems with a handful. Of those, I've only lost my money once and that was five years ago to a 'garage' model maker in Canada. The losses have been postal, usually around one of the big holidays (Christmas, Easter & bank holidays) when postal 'black holes' seem to swallow items. Last December, around £GBP500 worth was "lost", including items in transit with courier services! All were replaced by the vendors, God bless 'em, one item (present for the wife) arriving on Christmas Eve.

In January, the British Post Office was fined £GBP11.5 Million by their regulatory body for lost/stolen mail over the Christmas period. I don't think anything's been lost now as Ubisoft have not flagged the order as 'dispatched'.

Still, point taken. Guess I'm just another dumb ass! (Moderator: pardon the French . . .they need all the help they can get!!!)

Don't worry. I ordered something recently from Sydney (2 hours away) because I was simply too lazy to drive 20 minutes down the road and pick it up.

So I'm not suggesting that you're a dumb ass.

But gee, with the amount of crap I buy via ebay, I'm sure glad it's not being delivered by British Post by the sounds of things!

Oh, if you end up cancelling the order, you may wanna consider getting it at amazon.co.uk via the Subsim store here. Subsim gets a commission which goes to keeping the site running, and you get your goods just as if you bought them direct.

Default No sweat.

No, I realise you weren't suggesting I was a dumb ass; its how I feel!!!

Amazon is great, I've had many dealings at .com and .co.uk and they've never come up short. SH3 is a lot cheaper there too! :rotfl:
