Default SDK for SHIV.....

I've read that Ubisoft intend to release an SDK along with the next in the series. I've also heard that SHIV is going to use the same game engine as SHIII ,with some modifications. Does this mean that the SDK will work on it?? Does anyone know?

I don´t believe there will be an SDK for SHIV or for SHIII... some more Fairy tales from UBI in my opinion

Awwww nuts. Then what right do they have to release the game in the first place if they aren't going to let us mod it the way we want?? Either make the damn thing near perfect or let someone who will take over. JM2C......

Software development kit as far as i know.

Allows modders to litterally recreate the whole game. Think unreal series and you will know what i mean.

Or the Half-Life series.

Ubisoft is not known for its generosity of releasing the SDK's for any of it's games...so I would not hold my breath.

Then they can bite my shiny metal ass, I'm not gonna buy their stoopid SHIV game......PERIOD. As of now I'm boycotting ALL UBISOFT products in protest at their lousy game support and moneybags attitude. If they aren't going to allow us to mod the game the way we want to, then its Torpedo Los! as far as I'm concerned.

Lol, you'll buy it. SDK or no SDK, I'll being purchasing it despite the fact that there may not be an SDK released with it. The modders in the community have done an amazing job working with no SDK, incredible really. But following Half Life 2's strategy would pay big dividends for UBI. If it's a question of money, releasing the SDK would benefit UBI, in that they wouldn't have to pay developers any money to produce big mods such as GW, NYGM, RUB and so on. If the mods did well, very well, among the community, than they could purchase it for less than they would have had to pay professional designers(Counter-Strike anyone?). Releasing improved versions of these mods on some kind of online marketplace(steam?) would generate more money. The online marketplace is the future as far as games and software are concerned.

If we want the SDK released guys, we need to start talking to UBI in the only language they know, money. Then we'll see some changes for the better in upcoming games.

I have bought SH3 3 times now because of the modding community work.

This game stands to be one of the best things for a decade of my gaming life. I usually spend months on a game thn hang it up but not sh3. I always return but part of that is the fact that it is a much more mature and placid community also.
