Default noob questions

I just reinstalled SH3 and have decided to give it a go this time. I installed the GW mod and was wondering if any others should be included.

One thing that I have noticed is that my nights are so dark i cant hardly see anything. Is there a fix for this?

Also shouldn't the moon phase effect the night light?

Thanks!

The default GW view/range modification is 8km light. So that's as light as you get by default.

You can download the minitweaker and inspector and change the values to something better for your setup.

Thx vodka... I looked over those applications and not sure if a novice like myself should try this. No one has done a mod to lighten things up a bit? I think its on my end because I have seen screens and they are near as dark as mine.

p4 3.2ghz
ati 9800xt (updated drivers)
updated DirectX

It makes night operations a no go! I cant see anything out my UZO/ Periscope...nothing!!

Well uh........ thats the way it was IRL. Mine is pretty dark as well but just enough for me to see.

Takes a while getting used to it I'll admit, the stock night is so bright it might as well be day time with hvy cloud cover.
