Default Kreigsmarine Slideout Handbook Mod!

Hello guys Just to info on this project that started yesterday to the SH III , GW & NYGM Compatible mod....

Basicly i'm creating, what it was the personal german navy sailors handbook, for the info i have, this book contained info on normal navy tasks, ships, and contrys, as also contained info on normal sailors tasks on board...

I proposed mysellf to change a bit this contents, and make a flag recongnition manual, that will slide out on the right side of the ingame screen...

Since i whant to make a contry flag recognition manual, i whant to be as acurate as possible, so also will have to search for contry info from that period of time as well for some info on their fleets.

This is the normal pick of the reall saillor handbook...

And this is a pick of mi work untill the moment:

I will apreciate also anyone that can give me precise contry and flags info as well of webs that i can look for imput into this mod...

I will update periodicly on the workprogress...

C Ya soon ...

This looks bloody fantastic. You mean it will also look like that in the game? And it will be possible to read it like a real book??

It would be great if you dont forget to include a german version. Would be very bad for immersion if I had to read a book issued by Germans in English language

Great stuff.

Yep this is how it will look in game!
Actually the version i'm basing on it is the german version, so i gues i'll do it in both languages...

And yes it suposed to be reed as a normal book, cause it will have lots of info to help seemans during their see time travelling, also i will try to include stuff like bearing help and manual targeting, convoy aproaches, ways to escape detection, and DCharging...
Among other stuff....

Will you use the "Altdeutsch" characters (i.e. bitmap pages) or ingame charset? I´d prefer the first, though I guess many people can´t read them.

I'm wondering how you will incorporate a new book in the game. Unless you are bashing the Recognition manual, there's no way to incorporate an additionnal interactive element to the game.

Can you explain more that part of beeing impossible to had another interactive element into the game???

As i understand , (I can be rong), that moding interactive elements it's not hardcoded, verything that is not hard coded you can mod,
But if you know something diferent pls tell me, cause than i can find a hacking solution for it!

An example! On a game caled The Sims, there was an action and ineraction with the element Bed, for 3 actions possible, sleep, Making L... to the wife, read a book or relaxing...
I made an Kacking of the bed actions and add some more possible actions to it, (that i will not mention)...

I can do a simular thing to the recon manual here....

I gona use both actually, The Recon manual, and Part of the functional stage of 6 dials simfeeling mod, basicly gona take
or try it to use the 6 dials location with slight adjustments cause i don't whant 3 partes of the book coming at the same time, and the interactive part from the recon manual, ...

I am aware that i gona have to work also the way of making this mod work but i'll manage offcourse conting with all off you guys when doubts atack me...

I've done something simular in other game 1 time, and it's a question of working extra hours, but i'm confident that i can do it... been around this allready for 6 weeks, and studing both files, Recon manual, and simfeeling dial, the slide out one, so it's possible...

But offcourese, that i mite need your and somebody elses help in some parts that i didn't got yet...

UPDATE

Made some adjustments on the cover was disaligned, and first page is rising, thought need some more work ....

Cover

First Page

This is too Damn fun!

Because Interactive elements are hardcoded. They have assigned ID numbers that are only triggered by the ingame codes. They can't even be duplicated.

Trust me, I've tried to do everything similar in my Draggable Chronometer and Recognition manual.

The only thing you can do is bashing by modeling the ini file which is a hyperactive markup. Not programing codes.

Man are you shore Jonz, it's not doubting your words but, hacking a gaming interactive elements as been done since started to apear this kind of modding forums...

I've got to search for those codes and Id numbers, cause if we can creat and introduce with an hacking extra id nimbers maybe will be possible to creat extra elements....

I'm pretty sure about that. It is perhaps possible to hack into the code to assign new IDs but I highly doubt it is possible and doubt any high skilled person will be kind to spend several hours to help this issue.

The only thing the menu_1024_768.ini file is capable to add to the game AFAIK is layering additionnal graphics and dials.
