Default News flash!!! I did not play SH3 yesterday!

It was bound to happen sooner or later.

A day without SH3.

A day where I did not take to the seas to kill the English.

What could possibly cause such an event?
Well, I upgraded my VC from an X800GTO to an X850XT and that came with Splinter Cell and Prince of Persia on the same day I also received CoD2

CoD2 is super on neat graphics and the models are nice but,
Did anyone notice when you called in naval support 4 Vanquard class battleships were off the coast shelling???? OMG, what a screw up!!!
I completed the Russian and British ones yesterday.
These FPS are fun for a couple days but give me flight sims and SH3 where the constant unknown and variabilty can keep me wanting more every day.
Prince of Persia (Sands of Time) and Slinter Cell (Pandora-DVD)??? Booooooooooooooooooring!! Brand new, any offers :rotfl:
After my X850XT checks out for a week I guess the GTO will go to eBay.
Can't say the GTO was inferior in SH3 but the X850 was slightly better in CoD2 and MoHPA.
Not enough that I would recommend someone doing the same thing.

I've taken a few breaks from SHIII - mostly for Rome: Total Realism. Otherwise, I don't think I've really had much interest in straying far from it. In fact, I believe these plus IL-2 are the only 3 games I really played in the last year. :hmm:

Wow, does that sound familiar! Yep, RTR, IL-2, & SH3 ... that's about it for me too (though I did play some DoD:Source with my brother a while back). I can't stand to play RTR anymore. I mean, it's fun and pretty, but the AI is so dumb that there's just no challenge to it.

Hmmm ... maybe I'll start up a new IL-2 campaign.

I have CoD2, in fact I'm in a realism unit for it and I have to say that its quite a disappointing game. Apart from the fact that it feels like CoD with a 2 slapped on the end to make it sound fancy and that we've waiting for the patch and the SDK forever, it feels like I'm playing Counter Strike on a engine inbetween HL2 and the old HL.

If you want a FPS that's as indepth and challenging as simulator games I'd suggest Red Orchestra. It was a mod for the UT2004 engine, but it's been re-released by Valve on Steam. It's ground combat on the Eastern Front at it's finest.
- Bolt action rifles require you to work the action in order to eject the spent casing and chamber a new round.
- Tanks cannot be efficiently driven and gunned by one person, you either main the turret, drive, or man a hull MG.
- MG barrels overheat, you can change them.
- Your gun can be rested and stablized on just about any surface in the game.

The features of this game go on and on. It's realistic right from the start.

I wish I had my joystick with me. I really miss playing IL-2:FB+AEP+PF.

I also didn't play any SHIII yesterday, although I ran the game about a million times. I was trying to get my campaign ready for Wolves at War's 20th patrol and getting all my mods in order.
