Default took a swipe at French tug and....

A French tug was crossing my path so I decided to send her to the bottom.

It's early 39, first kill of first patrol.

Verified that the tug was french, sunk her, moved on for a few game hours and saved to get back to real life.

On the exit summary screen it says I've got 1 sunk Axis boat and the tonnage is listed as Axis too. WTF?

Am I going nuts? Didn't the sunk ships and totals go into the column of who the shipped belonged to? not who sunk it.

I think maybe I am going batty. I've got a crappy headache and can feel a fever coming on. Time to take some Tylenol and go to bed.

BTW, that stupid deck gun on my mkVII couldn't even swisscheese a tug. Damn thing took 50 shells all over the waterline and was still up. I gave up and put a hole in her with a fish.

Oh yeah, playing Unified GW Campaign.

Probably the French flag was an undercover mission to deploy german spies... now they are dead.

What's the date? If it's after the surrender to German forces a ship bearing a normal French flag could be allied with the Axis, since the Vichy government was... well allied with the Axis...

Aslo, check your rows in the report. Sometimes I get confused too because the row at the very top is just a label and isn't supposed to have a number value it makes it hard for the eyes to line up.

Sorry, the French haven't been defeated yet. Their ports are all still Red on the map, and I haven't heard anything about the surrender on the sqawk yet.

Stupid J.ass tug boat!

Um, dude, there's two separate flags for the French...regular French, and Free French. The Free French flag has a little shield design thingy in the white stripe in the middle.

From "regular GW"

The GW Defside Cfg shows the following for France:

[SideEntry 33]
Country=France
Side=0
StartDate=19380101
EndDate=19390902

[SideEntry 34]
Country=France
Side=1
StartDate=19390903
EndDate=19400625

[SideEntry 35] (France is occupied by Germany now. Shouldn't this be defside # 2 for AXIS country as Vichy French government? Free French is a separate country in our defside cfg)
Country=France
Side=0
StartDate=19400626
EndDate=19440825

The Free French... only one entry which seems fine.
[SideEntry 36]
Country=France
Side=1
StartDate=19440826
EndDate=19451231
[SideEntry 37]
Country=FreeFrench
Side=1
StartDate=19400618
EndDate=19451231

If the defside cfg for the UC GW campaign is the same... That tug should have been listed as neutral or allied when sunk, but never axis.

Maybe Rubini will be able to speak on this as the UC creator/compiler.

Lehmann, I'm not talking about you... I was just wondering if guy is telling it was 1939 and someone other is talking about free French...
There wasn't such a country in 1939.
