Default Harware Advice for Those Who Play SH3 in the Dark

Just as information.

For those who has not heard of it, there's a speedpad made by Belkin called the "Nostromo N52".

It's a handy little addition to enhance your gaming experience. I've read a couple of post here where some has said that they like to play SH3 in a darkened room, but has trouble finding the hotkeys on their keyboards. I too like to play SH3 in the dark, but I don't have any problems finding my hotkeys while using the N52

I first bought the N52 when I had my stint playing Multiplayer on Call of Duty. Makes playing a whole lot easier since you can program the speedpad to any hotkey, making access to any game function a lot less frustrating.

If you're interested, here's the link: http://world.belkin.com/

Just select your language and search for the N52 Speedpad.

Default red light

Be careful as red light districts may attract unwanted and horney visitors.

I got an illuminated keyboard about a month ago, specifically for playing this game in the dark. There's several out there, mine is the Saitek Eclipse. Also an option for playing games in the dark.

I have one of these. The Zippy EL-610. It is an excellent keyboard, constructed with the same kind of spring-membrane that laptops are. The spacebar is a bit of a problem, sometimes producing two spaces and sometimes none. The LED is fairly bright, and the dark paint of the keys make night gaming very easy. It is reasonably priced, as responsive as a laptop (don't plan on 90wpm with the thing's spacebar acting up), and visually precise.

I also have a Saitek PC Gamer. It's not nearly as good as the Zippy for night gaming, because the keys are opaque. The light has two intensity settings, and the high produces a glare into your eyes. It's a full stroke keyboard, and it is very responsive. I typically use it for FPS games, where my keys are usually in a tight arrangement. I play games "left handed", so I'm usually using the numeric keypad. One of these days I'll get around to trying out it's programmable keypad, but for now, I'm happy with the keyboard. The "Eclipse" might be a better buy, since the letters are translucent on an opaque key, but it doesn't come with the keypad.

Ive been using one for 2-years now, and
its GREAT , Best 30$ gaming buy ive made!!

not sure about the red-light,, but isnt that
what real u-boats use-to-have??,,
soo,,,you would have to consider that a mod for the game,
without having to install,,,coool!

I installed a red lightbulb.

Sure enough, about 3 hours later there was a queue of sailors waiting at my front door.
