Entering Mission and Stuck in Paused Mode

I recently saved a campaign than crashed me to desktop everytime I tried entering it....I rolled back to my last port thinking that would correct the problem. I no longer CTD but, now when I enter game I am stuck in paused mode and cannot unpause...the button selections appear but, the 3-d room is black like it cant fade into gameplay like it usually does...I can see all my menu options though and they rollout etc like I can play.

This problem happends when I try to launch a single player or academy practice missions as well.....my save happend when I was experiencing sound distortions so Im not sure if that maybe why it is stuck in a paused mode....anyone else come across this stuck in pause mode scenerio? I cannot play at all now no matter what I do.

I have RUB 1.45, HT, and Hollywood Advanced with effects as my major mods. I also launch my game using latest SH3 Commander.

Anytime I got stuck in pause mode the only way I could fix it was uninstall it and then re-install. Sux though cuz all progress is lost.

Can you copy the save files, then uninstall-reinstall, then paste the save files back in?

Check out the following file:

\My Documents\SH3\data\cfg\main.cfg

Only if this file is missing there, look in file main.cfg in your SH3 install folder instead.

There should be a section in the file, similar to the following:

Code:

[TIME COMPRESSION]
TimeStop=0
RealTime=1
LandProximity=64
CriticalDamage=1
CrewEfficiency=1
AirEnemyDetected=1
SoundEffects=2
CharacterAnim=4
EnemyDetected=1
RadioReport=1
Particles=8
PrayState=1
HunterState=128
3DRender=128
Maximum=2048

The relevant lines for your problem are the first 2. Make sure that you have entries that specify:

TimeStop=0
RealTime=1

yeah thanks for suggestion avon but, I'm afraid that didn't fix my problem...the cfg file is correct on those two lines yet it still sticks me in pause mode when I enter a game which I cannot get out of.

Blue3golf is this a common problem with Sh3? how many times has it happened to you? is it from mods corrupting or is it a standard sh3 thing? and what causes it?[/quote]

I had the in mission corrupt file problem but rolling back to the last in port save always worked. Never ran into the "stuck on pause" problem

Avon, I was looking at wrong main.cfg. My profile one in My Documents was corrupted....it was missing entire sections like [Time Compression] all together...so I am patching it now and trying it...apparently it happends to standard install users so its not related to a mod thing....

WOOHOO its FIXED!!!!!! without a reinstall and my campaign has been saved!!!!!...nomore stuck in pause problem!
