All,
I'm getting ready to make a Trans-Atlantic voyage and was wondering if SH3 models a round or flat earth? It seems that when I plot a Great Circle Route (north up to Greenland and then down the coast from Newfoundland) it actually is a longer path than if I just plot one straight across to America. Also, what was the historical optimal path to the Carribbean and S. America? Thanks, Hitch

I've always wondered this too. Somehow I doubt the whole world is round, even though the little bubble that you occupy is, i.e. masts do appear over the horizon first.

The world is flat and carried on the back of four elephants and a turtle.
