Default ASDIC

I have a qusetion: if i want to show the less profile possible to a DD that is pinging me, wich position i have to take refer the DD?

Either turn the boat to face him directly (0 degrees relative bearing), or turn completely away from him, so that you present your backside to him (180 degrees relative bearing).

Was this your question?

There was a post about an aparent suicidal but very efective technique, wich was to head directly for the enemy ship (thus presenting a very small profile to him) and when you got under his ASDIC you would make a 90 degree turn to side step him. I don't remember where I read that... I'll see if I can fish up the link later.

Yes, either spit of fart at them. "Profile" by definition is a side view, or silhouette, so you don't want them looking at the side view, that has the largest surface area for them to see.
