Default Auto switch recharge mode

When surfacing the engines automatically switch to the recharge mode. Is there any way to disable that?

It's very annoying to turn it off each time to get maximum speed. Most times I only recharge the batteries at night or when I reach the patrol area.

Why do you whant to change that bro?? :hmm:

Actually it's a preaty helpfull situation as you don't have to change it all the time you need it!!!

And also doesn't have no secondary effects as doesn't afects the subs diesel engine or any other funcionallitys... :hmm:

Actually it slows the boats speed as only 1 prop is running, the others engine being used to recharge the battery.

I think the scenario is (and this happens to me a lot):
Drop to periscope depth to check the hydrophone. You pick up a ship and plot it's course but it's quite far away and to intercept you need to go full speed on the surface asap. You surface the boat and the auto-recharge kicks in so you have to then turn it off.. occasionally you forget to turn it off and don't realise that you're 3-4 knots slower than the max speed for a few minutes (accelerated time is normally the culprit) and you miss the intercept.

Either way, having it auto or manual, sometimes you will forget to change it I guess! One way you lose a potential target, the other way your battery isn't charged when you might need it to be.
Each to their own and all that.

All a bit irrelevant if it's hard coded though

For convenience, you could try 'Setkeys' v1.3 for SH3, which will assign key-commands for battery/diesel.

I have Setkeys assign CTL-S for 'Standard' Propulsion', and CTL-B for 'Battery Recharging'. It's fast to just hit CTL-S when speed is needed, then CTL-B for recharging.

Setkeys requires Microsoft .NET Framework v1.1 to work properly.

Great program, thx. (I will be using Ctrl-S, too)

Still I hope it could be disabled, because some patrols I don't need to recharge at all.... (1941).

So, please mod (if possible).
