Default Needles!

Is there a way to remove/disable the digital readout numbers beneath your console guages? I prefer eyeing up my speed, depth and bearing the old-fashioned way --- by needles only.

Put a piece of tape on the monitor to hide them :rotfl:

I still want my command console there. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to play without it and rely on the ACTUAL gauges in the boat (subtracting 20 for the air pressure gauge of course), but I don't do that because I lose a lot of functionality. Without that console you can't make small adjustments to course without taking the CE's position. Also, without that console you can't back out of the map screen, mail screen, etc. with a simple right click. You would indtead have to use the F keys. This is all a matter of personal preference of course.

In the en_menu (or de_menu).txt file, look for the lines under ";Layout" (2697-2709). Specifically lines 2700, 2701, 2704, 2705, 27909 are probably all what you need to edit.
