Default Another nube question.

Sorry for asking things that I am sure have been covered here before. I have tried using the search engine, however it comes up with way to many hits to sort thru.

Now the question. How do I get the external torpedo stores into the tubes. I am in the Type VIIB sub.

Thanks again for the help.

When on the surface press the I key and using your mouse move the external torp to one of the internal torp tubes. Can only load externals on the surface.

Thanks, I figured you had to be on the surface. I tried to drag them with the mouse, but no avail. Did not know about the "I" key.

I have the PDF manual that came with the sim, but could not find that info. Is there a better manual around, so I won't be a pest?

Thanks again.

If you are on silent run, the torpedoes will not be reloaded. Same goes for the bad weather!

Surface the boat, no silent running then drag the ex torp to one of the emty `indoors´ storage spot. The torp crew will handle the rest.
Oh and don't forget to have the automatic loading "ON" to make the life easy.
And you want to do it in a peaceful and quiet place becuse it will take from 20mm to an hour depending on the crew and their skills.

Reason for edit soo much: Can't think or spell...lol

Make sure there's enough crew in the relevent torpedo room too. It takes ages (about 20min at 1x) so each crew helping is valuable!

Unh! I tried will all relevant spaces manned, on the surface and fair weather and it would not transfer till daylight. Could have been something else.

Is there a discription of all the ships actions somewhere. I searched thru the manual (PDF) that came with the sim.

I was going to chime in with the comment that it may have been working but you didn't notice. The external torpedo changes color to show it's happening, and if you hold the cursor over the torpedo it will tell you how long you have left.

I only do transfers at night, so I know it works then.

I try to only do it at night. Once during the day early in a career I was in the middle of loading the external stores, and a plane came down and started banging me up, and with my inexperienced crew I couldn't shoot it down, so I submerged, and lost the external torps! So I always do it at night now in a quiet place.

To reload your aft externals it would seem that it requires crew to be in both the aft and bow torpedo rooms. Funny that innit??

Jasondef, you lost the externals? Cool! I was hoping they did it that way, but didn't really want to find out the hard way.

Yup, found out the hard way. Nice to have a great manual with the game to tell you such things, but maybe that's all part of the fun of the experience. I did surface once and did not lost them, but it was only like 5 minutes into the transfer, so maybe you have to be a certain ways into it to lose them upon submersion.
