We've had some people on the forum complain that there is too much of it or it goes on too long...but hey! It's the North Atlantic. I've heard that there are some mods that make the seas even rougher.

That's easy. Buy a diver's laptop and get into the shower with your clothes on and open the cold water from time to time. Prefferably at the times that the conning tower is under a big wave.

Spin around until you throw up over the keyboard than scrub the computer desk down with a toothbrush . That should make you feel right at home on the old sub .

Yup the bad weather is always somehow more suited to SH3 than fair seas and clear skies. Great weather for stalking convoys since the escorts can't pick you out of the background noise, but the downside is you have to set your torps to run shallow to counteract the increased rise and fall of the merchies on the rough seas. Like was said earlier, very edge of your seat stuff

Yep rough weather is fun, just wished they had made the wind max double what it is (from 15 to 30). I also use an increased wave height mod which i hand tailored to make the wave heigh roughly 1.6 times higher then stock. Though ya gotta be carefull with waves that high as they can expose your conning tower in the trenches.

Just wish the spray on the conning tower was more like the third person view (1st person has about 1/4 of the spray).

TimeTraveller made a mod called BigWaves a long time ago. It's now a part of SHIII Commander, and you can set wave height to 1.25x, 1.5x or 2x normal. Or normal, of course.

I like the rough weather-most of the time. Once I fired my last three fish into a T3, and it still wouldn't go down, and needed the tonnage to get that cool no-fatigue medal. Surfaced to finish it off with the deck gun, and the weather was too crappy to use the deck gun! Waited for a couple of hours, then a couple of days, even like a week (that sucked) and the weather conditions stayed the exact same the entire time! I gave up and cheated and reloaded a save and tried again, only couldn't get the T3 again!

I later added the 1.5X bigger wave mod, and that was even cooler rough weather! Although the first convoy I encountered during a storm, like 3 out of 4 escorts half sunk and were immobilized, and even a couple of the smaller merchants half sunk, sort of took some of the fun out of it. So there is such thing as having too much weather in that case.

Its fantastic. I've managed 5 patrols so far with my new game and my new favorite underdog submarine (IIA ) and its only worthwhile when the weather gets crap.

Waiting for that stop watch to reach the red line and seeing it fly past because you haven't set the depth right is brilliant

Later on 1943 timeline and later, you HATE to see clear weather. Bad weather keeps those damn planes grounded........
