Default Gramophone

I'm downloading a bunch of files with various tunes, and i'm new to using the gramophone. How do we play custom tunes? I guess I just need to know where to put these files. I can probably figure everything else out from there.

\SilentHunterIII\data\Sound\Gramophone. I'm sure some or all of the d/ls would include readme files outlining where to place them.

BTW 89 posts in three days. My, you've asked a lot of questions! To save yourself some time waiting for responses, you may like to try the Subsim Forum "Search" feature, where questions like this one have been asked before. You'll get a quicker response then!

You may also like to peruse the Silent Hunter III Community Manual where this exact question is also answered.

You're right. I should have checked the wiki 1st. Didn't think of it. But yes, i've had a lot of questions. It's mostly because the game does very little to explain anything. I only really have one other question which is in my ports thread. I actually did check around for that but can't seem to find exactly what i'm looking for.

Ok sorry to keep pestering. But how do I play the gramophone in the sub? I'm in the room and I can't figure out how to turn this thing on.

Click on the picture of the radioman. Then click on the gramophone icon. The rest should be easy.

Not sure but maybe they have to be MPEG files?

No im pretty sure OGG's are good. Maybe its because I have the game music off. But I was told that the gramophone should still work with the latest patch.

got it working. I had the music turned on in the options, but the volume down. So I had it backwards.

OGGs or WAVs both work well. I use WAVs myself.
