Default Stalking Convoy mid 40's

Hey guys, I came across a convoy with only two escorts and did a quick surface check to find out there heading and speed. It was around 2000hrs and I was about 3200m away judging from my checks. Anyway, I obviously got too close and the escort in front of the convoy(a DD) broke off and made a bee line for me. He forced me to dive but not before I got the heading and speed of the convoy: about 82* and 8kts. After running ahead slow at 50m for 15 minutes my hydrophone operator said he was moving away so I went to persicope and found the coast clear. Now being detected by the front escort(the rear one is simply a Corvette) I know the merchants are probably weaving by now, my question is whether they will eventually go back to their previous course or alter it and/or their speed. The merchants don't have deck guns yet either so it would also be great to do away with the escorts and have a go with my 88m but the seas are 15ms . Anyway, hope any of you can answer these questions, I'm moving at flank speed, guessing about 5000m away from the convoy, in light fog, and have matched their course of 82*, hoping later I can intercept for a night surface attack IF they(the convoy) stay on their course...
