Finally. I was watching the news this morning and the captain was saying that it is going to be a tight close thing in terms of her size and the Clyde but that BAE have got all the calculations right. We hope.

Should be an impressive sight on the news this evening.

The new Stingray ASW torp failed to kill atleast one ARA Sub (they attack two others with out sucess as well I think). AS-12s almost failed to sink her too...

Quote:
A total of nine missiles were fired at the submarine trapped on the surface by anti-submarine torpedoes circling just under the hull. Of the missiles fired four hit, four missed and one failed to launch. Two of the missiles that hit the target failed to detonate on impact, instead punching a hole through the slender conning tower and exploding on the far side.
BTW the Tigerfish and Spearfish were never used in the Falklands War (did the Spearfish even exist yet?). In fact the CO of the HMS Conqueror didn't use them to sink the General Belgrano because he had doubts about their reliability.

The Seadart is used by another nation. Ironicly its Argentina. They purchased two Type 42 DDG armed with the MK 30 Seadart twin launcher.

Also the Seawolf is used by Malaysia on its Lekiu FFGs, and by Brazil on its Type 22 FFGs.

Oh and the Tigerfish is used by Brazil and Turkey on its Type 209 SSKs.
