Default Questions regarding WAW

Hi all,

I would like to get into WAW. It sounds very interesting and fun.

Am I understanding correctly that I may not use any commander name that is contained in the search engine and the corresponding u-boat #? If so, can I come up with a German name and a number that is not listed even if it is not an actual WWII commander?

Last question. What mods do you recommend I have installed? I am currently using only Rub 1.45. Is that all I need or are there others you recommend. I was under the impression that Rub 1.45 contained all of the best mods in that package. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

1) Yes, you may select a German name to use - but with hundreds of U-boats out there, it really doesn't have to be a problem!
Just go to Uboat.net and pick one, if you really want a historical commander. Otherwise, a fitting German name will do.

2) RUb 1.45 is the current recommended WaW setup!

I never actually played, but I did join. I was told that the name didn't have to be an actual person, just German-sounding. Using a random name generated by SHIII Commander is a good way to get a semi-real name, and you can keep doing it until it gives you one you like.

You'll need to actually ask somebody in charge at WAW, but I'll bet getting a name that way would be fine with them.

Yes, you come up with one. If you have any other questions just pm me or post them here.

No 'they' don't. 'They' play single player campaign. But that would be nice to try. :hmm:
