This may seem like a stupid question but here goes.
using the mod enabler In an unmodded game the file structure is pretty self explanatory (using Sim.cfg for example as it is commonly and easily changed) the structure reads: data/Cfg/Sim.CFG-the game reads the Sim.CFG. Now lets say you enable a mod like RUB1.45 the file structure remains:data/Cfg/Sim.CFG but there is now a file called Sim.cfg.RUB1 stuck down in the bottom of the Cfg folder Lets say you then enable another mod such as Airpower Now you have files that contain both Sim.cfg.RUB1 & Sim.cfg.Airpower located in the bottom of the folder Which file is the game actually reading the one labeled Sim.cfg or the latest which is Sim.cfg.airpower I'm assuming that the enabler is just re-naming these files so they go back in place as they're disabled one by one

Are you using the latest version of JSGME (1.3.3.41)? What you're describing sounds like the behaviour of the very first versions, released aeons ago.
All post 1.2.0 versions save a backup of any files overwritten to the MODS\!BACKUP folder. No backup files are created in the SH3 folder structure. |

I just checked. The version is 1.1.4.26
It's worked so flawlessly I never had a reason to change. Does this mean the game could possibly be reading the wrong files as we've discussed earlier? If so then that would explain a whole lot to me\ Thanks for responding, I appreciate it.

Just DL'd your latest enabler. Thanks for the tip-I guess in this case the "if it ain't broken don't fix it" rule doesn't apply. I'll give it a whirl today. Thanks again.
