Any way to reverse IUb 1.02 without a full new install?

I recently added IUb and find the game now crawls along. I'm hoping to reverse the install if it's at all possible and just add several of the mods I want. (my suspicion is it's the grafix fixes that are overtaxing the system, but that's just a suspicion)

I didn't use the mod installer (can't remember the name offhand) because I've never seemed to be able to get it to work correctly on my system.

If worse comes to worse, I'd settle for just keeping my old careers active if I have to do a complete install.
