Default Please help w/ nav mods

I humbly seek your help, after diligently searching this forum and all other resources at my disposal!

I've been trying to work my way through Wazoo's excellent tutorials, but I've hit a major snag. Seems like some of the needed nav mods (vertical nomo?) are included in IuB and some aren't. I've had no luck installing the other mods via the generic mod enabler.

Is it possible to install the other mods I need for the Wazoo method using the generic mod enabler?

Are the mods in question compatable with IuB?

I'm reluctant to try to install the other nav mods by the methods described in thier read me files, cuz: A- I'll screw it up, and B- I worry that there will be compatability issues with either IuB or the mod enabler.

If anybody is willing to give me some help with this ie. hold my hand I'd really appreciate it. I've reached the limits of what this method can do for me

Thanks,

Noob

:hmm: I dunno if it much help but by mod enabler you mean the JSGME? If so I have not yet had troubles swapping using this tool.

Seems I misread your post the first time. So you have unzipped the mods and got them in your mods folder?

If so are they in the format of "mod name" then a folder says Data then folder "name" etc.....? Be sure contents are unzipped too within the mod...

Default JSGME

yes, I'm using JSGME.

It seems that the only mod I can get to work using the JSGME is IuB v 1.02. Every other mod I try to unzip into SH3's MODS folder does appear in JSGME when I run that- but nothing happens. Also, I can't get other mods to look like
-- MOD NAME
-- data

like the IuB mod does. What am I doing wrong?

Also, apparently there have been some nav mods incorporated into SH3 v 1.03 and later??? I have the most recent patch, but on the nav screen when click on the "?" on the nav toolbar, nothing happens. What's up with that?

I would like to be able to use all of the mods required AND recomended in Wazoo's tutorial(s), such as Pato's 1500m range mod, Wazoo's dragable nomo, Devnull's 1 deg. scope mod, etc.

Unzipping IuB into SH3's MODS folder and then using JSGME to either run the mod or not works great. How come I can't do the same thing with the other mods I want to use?

I am not sure this will answer directly your concern but here is how I deal with mods in JSGME.

1) unzip or decompress mod file into a new folder on the desktop

2) open the root folder then check for other folders or files

3) The next folder should be Data

4) In Data should be the first file or path; example:

Das Boot Music/Data/Sound/Music - music folder contains all the individual files

This is located in my Mods (this is located in C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII\MODS) the folder created when I setup JSGME. Then I activate/enable the mod.

The format is always the same "mod name"/Data/target name/.....

Once I have the desired folder structure I cut and paste to Mods folder from the desktop.

Activate JSGME via a shortcut I created; Enable and go from there.

I am not too sure this helps but another great thing to check is the Community Wiki files they may have answers or maybe someone in the better know can address this further for you...
