Anyway:
what a nice piece of work! A lot of attention has been given to the smallest of details....
I can only second your opinions:
1) I wish I had the patience to do something like that
2) I wisj I ha the skill to do something like that.

Thanks for posting

Anybody know where to get one of those kits? I've seen a few about, but not had any luck tracking down a shop (preferably in the UK) which actually had any in stock, either the kit in the link or a few others VIIB etc.

My brother in the UK made the same kit back last year. Will phone him and get him to post where he bought it. He has always build a corvette to the same scale and put them both under glass. Incredible.

Will ask him to post photoes.

EDIT. He ordered the Revell kit at a local model shop and it took about 2 weeks to come back. The corvette HMCS Snowdrop was ordered the same way.

I purchased the Revell 1/72 kit from www.Greatmodels.com. It came in just a few days, and was in good condition.

They're also offering a 1/72 Gato from the same mnfr. later this year.

Plan on building it with minimal instructions though, because there aren't many. Of course, putting it together is relatively easy, it's the details that'll take time.

Being familiar with the VII-C's in SH-III is definately an asset as well.

Good luck, and happy hunting!

Chris Wauchop does awesome work, he has a superb post-shading technique which lends extraordinary realism to his builds. Have a look around his other stuff too, very nice indeed.

For some reason I thought that the VIIC did not have the wirecutters fitted to their bow wire and that it was discontinued with the VIIB.

Why would I think that?

Curios and curiouser said the cat.
