Default I did it!

I finally sank my first really big ship!

An Illustrious Fleet Carrier(task force) at 23000 tons.

Edit: this is around april of 1940...

A daytime attack, medium heavy seas, four torps set at 3.5 ft, impact, at about 2200 meters. All four torps hit, as well as a fifth shot out the back sinking a Tribal Destroyer. I didn't get to see any of it, as I had turned off event cameras and external cameras(91% difficulty), and I dove for 120m as soon as I launched.

Never even got pinged - they never knew what hit 'em.

Considering the distance to the nearest coast, and the amout of aireal patrols I had to dodge trying to intercept the task force, I think I should also get credit for all the aircraft who are now finding themselves low on feul with no where to land.

Good for you!

I have spotted a Task Force a couple of times, but never got to hit a nice juicy target like a carrier......and I have played MANY careers.
Luck will have to be on my side someday!

Any info as to where you saw the carriers? im in dec 1940 at the moment and would love to see a carrier. Every time (up to now that is) i see a task force it contains just a few destroyers nothing else. As im only on 34% realism (cos i dunno how to manualy figure a solution etc) i would really love the renown i could get from a carrier. I usually come back to port with an average of 55-60k in tonnage but only 1500 or so renown so some locations of some big fat juicy warships would help!

oh lucky you .. I've intercepted a taskforce once ... it was called a taskforce but the only capital ships that were being escorted were more DD's inside a regular convoy .. sunk 3 our of 4 tankers so it was an alright patrol
