I am running on Rub 1.45 and am early in my career. I noticed that when I had a career under "stock" settings, I could actually shoot down planes. Now, with Rub, I can't do crap with the Flak!

Well realisticly speaking the stock settings are complete nonsense and allow it to be way to easy to shoot down planes.
RUB did what it is meant to do and made it so you should be afraid of planes and not stay on the surface to duke it out with them as no real Uboat commander would have done unless in dire circumstances. You should be diving to get away from them not sitting on the surface duking it out. The stock settings allowed people to come back with over 20-30+ planes downed in a patrol which is something no real Uboat would be capable of.Now you have to think twice about staying on the surface to fight the planes.Do you stay on the surface and face the planes and take a chance of either getting hit or have destroyers or more planes called in or do you dive away to allow yourself to live..as it should be to be realistic. This is the whole point of RUB...to make the game as realistic as it can be.Dont take this wrong but if you wanted an arcade shoot-em-up and not a realistic representation of Uboat command and capabilities then maybe RUB is not for you.Planes were one of the biggest threats to the Uboat and the stock settings did not allow this to show. Now the planes are an actual threat that you have to deal with. |

Nice reply, still didnt answer his question tho did u.
The settings you want are in the GUNS_SUB.sim file. I would suggest for ease of editing grab Timetravelers Tweak program and go at it. |

Improved Uboot uses RUB default settings,I once shot 3 swordfish down, once a PBY,but with the newer aircraft they will drop it right down your hatch.THE END

Thank you for the info. I am at work right now, but look forward to tweaking my settings tonight. I do enjoy the "realistic" gameplay in Rub, but it is a game and sometimes I just want to have a little fun! :|\

Im not sure 100% but I believe RUB also uses a modified version of the AirPower mod that I think also changes the armor settings on the aircraft as well to make them tougher to bring down..so those settings may also need changed if he to get it back to stock settings.
