Hi
First I have set a tracker to track a contact. Then a new contact appears, and I want to track the second contact too. But the second contact is very close to the first contact. And when I move the "listening cursor" with the mouse it jumps to the first tracker when I get close with the cursor. This wasnt a problem with subcommand, when I used to play couple years ago. Looking forward to getting into DW, bought it 6 months ago, but started yesterday.....he he got myself together and started reading the manual. |

Have you resolved which contact is the ambiguous one first? I don't know about the subs, but on the frigate your tracker will bounce slightly between the contact numbers (i.e. switching back and forth between 1001 & 1002) until you resolve whether the real contact is port or starboard. After you resolve the contact it should stay on the correct one.

I havent tried the FFG yet. I am only reffering to the american-subs sonar. I think you have gotten my question wrong. This problem also consists on the other sonars. Not just the towed array.
What I reffering to is that he cursor (vertical line) in the sonar, which I move with the mouse on the different bearings, jumps to the already set trackers. Example: I have two contacts on hull sonar. One on bearing 265 and one on bearing 269. I set tracker on bearing 265. Then I want to put my cursor on bearing 269 and add another tracker, but the cursor jumps to the already set tracker on 265. (The already set tracker is like a magnet). I don't want this to happen. I know that it is hard to track two contacts which are close on bearing. But this makes it impossible. And it wasnt like this on the old Subcommand. |

You can probably assign a tracker in narrowband. You won't get DEMON with an NB tracker, though, but it's better than nothing.

Have you tried "zooming" on the contact in the narrowband display. You can scale down the frequency lines to give you more room between the frequencies and that may allow you to select the desired narrowband signal.

When you attempt to assign the tracker on S2, do you hear the contact on 265 or 269? Also, attempt to assign it on the far side as to not confuse it.

That's interesting. I understand what you are saying. :hmm:
I'd say try running the game at as high a resolution as possible, and downloading Kegerty's small font's mod from www.subguru.com . On the download's page, kind of near the bottom of the DW section. Try that, it should help. ![]()

Just did a test. Only had one contact. But here it is.
I find a contact on 298. Put a tracker on it. Then I scroll my cursor on the bearing lines. From 360 down to 298. When I get to 302 the cursor jumps to 298. Like there was some kind of aid of getting the cursor directly on a tracker. I just dont want that aid. I dont want the cursor to be magnetic to trackers. I used to be able to assign trackers a contacts which where closer than 5 degrees. Is this just me? Or is it supposed to act like this? I run on 1200 x 1000 pixels (cant remember the exact numbers), and thats as high as my LCD monitor can handle. I have downloaded the font mod, as I can see the small fonts on the nav map. |

If you are doing this on the broadband, try going to the narrow band and assigning the tracker. Then when you go to the BB, use tracker review (I think it will work from NB to BB) to select the contact, and mark it again. I know it might be a pain, but for whatever reason this is happening to you, this might be the only workaround.
I've also heard something about disabling the hardware cursor, but I don't know about this for sure. I have a small bit of this sometimes, but nothing that causes a big problem with gameplay. The BB on the Western sonars can be a bit funny sometimes it usually works ok once you are more familiar with it.

Found something on enabling the software cursor. But this didnt fix the problem. Tried to run in windowed mode....same problem. Are you guys sure, youre not experiencing the same thing? Maybe this is not an error. Maybe its supposed to be like this. :hmm:

![]() ![]() Okay....here´s the question just to make it clear. Next time you play, could you check if this works. Just need to know if it is supposed to act this way. ![]() Can you do this: Can you place the listening cursor closer than 5 degrees to an already set tracker on Broadband. Or does the cursor jump to the already set tracker. |

Yes, on the Western sonars this will happen if you are trying to drag the cursor over a BB contact.
I never noticed this as a problem before, but I suppose it is a matter of personal preference.

![]() ![]() Great. Now I can put my mind at ease and start playing and learning. Although personally I would like to see this fixed, as it wasnt like this in Sub Command....if I recall. |
