Default FSAA broken at 1680x1050?

Can anyone else confirm this? Using the guide on the SHIII Wiki, I had been using FSAA at 1680x1050 happy as a clam for some time. Last I'd played SH3 was back when the Catalyst 5.11 drivers where the latest, and it worked fine, then.

I recently did a reinstall of the game, and am using Catalyst 5.13 drivers, now. Every resolution up to and including 1440 x 900 works fine with 4xAA....but 1680x1050 does not. No anti-aliasing at all at that res.

Any thoughts?

Maybe AF is too high? If it´s set to high values (8x or 16x) then maybe your card cannot handle 4xAA at the same time.

AF is set to 4x. I've also tried even 2xAA at 1680x1050. Quick calculation would show that 4xAA at 1440x900 (which works) will require more rendering power than 2xAA at 1680x1050 (which does not).

Huh.

It was the Catalyst Control Center that broke it, not the driver version.

Had tried rolling all the way back to 5.9 with CCC (and I KNOW the 5.9s worked....although I was using the Control Panel at the time instead of CCC)...but no good.

Finally restored to 5.13, and on a hunch, uninstalled the CCC. Just used the base drivers, and ATI Tray Tools to set the FSAA/Aniso/etc settings.

And...guess what? Same exact settings, and it works fine, now!
