Howdy all,
is SHIV confirmed as a Pacific Theatre sim?
It seems to me that soooooo much more could still be done to enhance the actual sim at hand. Thx to all the great modders out there SH3 is getting even better everyday, but I still feel that Ubi could also try a bit more :hmm:

I sympatize with you mods, threads like this and the sh3 mods thread
must be a real pain in the ass Especially when you get a lot of new info. Threads like these are like babies, you have to keep an eye on them all of the time. Or am I wrong? Or is this just great fun?

Now it's got two. See, your itty bitty forumie is growing! It's still just a little puppy, though.

I say stick it. This forum will just get more and more active.

Default SHIV - - - Rumors, Scuttlebut and Pre-release FAQ

Drebbel is suggesting that much progress on SHIV is being made in silence...

That is good news!

Default Patiently waiting for news

I waited 2 years for Silent Hunter II. It's been a long time since Silent Hunter I, but I can still wait. Please just let it have an intelligent AI and be bug free. We ought to be there with Version IV. I can wait, just barely, to get my hands on USS Tigrone.

I wonder if there will be any way to model a submarine rescue of the Lifeguard League?

Silent Hunter IV: Underway

THIS IS NOT A DRILL!

The big buzz on the web is that Ubisoft has begun planning and work on Silent Hunter IV. Now Subsim can confirm this is not wishful thinking or rumor. The new dev team has been assembled, returning many of the SH3 vets from programming, graphics, and design, under the direction of a new producer (Florin Boitor has left Ubisoft in 2005). The team is currently in the planning phase with work to begin at once.

Silent Hunter IV will return the series to the Pacific, with American submarines taking the starring role. SH4 will use the same game engine and dynamic campaign as SH3 with some improvements.

Discuss Silent Hunter IV here

16 December 2005

Silent Hunter IV - Pacific Campaign

Silent Hunter IV - Pacific Campaign is slated to begin early 2006. Ubi is assembling a dev team from the SH3 group and new programmers. More details to come.
