I trust that you actualy mean 573 000 tons. Or what did you expected for a mere 573 tons?

I have read somewhere in this forum that promotions has more to do with your unspend renown rather than with your tonnage.

I have been promoted to Kapitänleutnant three times in a row now and for some reason I always got demotion to Oberleutnant after I load my game for the next patrol. First time I was demoted was propably due losing renown when I got some new stuff in my boat. Next two times I didn't use my renown at all and still I lost my promotion. Weird.

I'm fairly confident that rank is based on renown, not tonnage. So, if you don't get a new boat or equipment, you will be promoted faster. Makes sense, no?

So, if you keep driving around in the same old clunker, don't promote any people or swap people out for the more experienced, get upgraded guns, batteries, engines, or any of the other "tools of war", you get promoted? You sink a zillion tons of shipping, experience hair-raising raids, heart stopping depth charge attacks, near sinkings and all the rest, and you get an "atta-boy"?

Sump'in wrong here...

This is a flaw with SH3's "renown" ranking system.

Teddy Bar's "tonnage" mod will remedy this...

I also got promoted to Kaptain twice in a row - without actually being demoted, I guess that makes me twice the Kaptain

So where in the structure of the game can we reinstate our due promotion.

Not a cheat, just justice!

Yea this isnt right Im on my 18th patrol and have sunk over 350,000 tons and still a lieutenant sr. In real life I probably would have been flown to Berlin, meet the the big wigs, been promoted to kaptain and givin all of the latest equipment and uboat with a big slap on the back and them saying go get em boy
