Default So how's the action in the mediterranean?

Im thinking about starting a campaign in the mediterranean, and i'm kinda wondering how it is. Enough shipping to be happy with, and enough escorts and aircraft for the thrills?

Although I have played in the Med, I haven't played extensively in the Med. I'm always busy with some sort of mod...

But from obseving the SCR layer of HT1.46, it looks as though there is action aplenty. Battleships and Task Forces are freely roaming in the Med. Plenty of German/Italian task forces as well. Many random flights of bombers and fighters. Also, the overall compactedness of the Med gives way to more "action" than in the Atlantic. Not to mention that La Spezia is only about two days away from Alexandria, the Heart of the British RN in the Med. All British ports are sure to be heavily defended, but they may be worth it...

And the word from Rubini is, it will only get better with HT1.47, since Rubini mostly concentrated on the Med and Black Sea conflict.

And I'll bet we'll even see some Italian Battleships.

I`ve done 4 WaW patrols in 29th flotilla and I can say that the RAF is really bounding us!

Lazy questions:

What is HT1.46?

And is it compatible with IUB1.02?

And is HT1.47 very near (worth waiting for)?

HT1.46 stands for Harbor Traffic 1.46. It is a mod that populates most of the German harbors with in-coming and out-going traffic. Some of the British harbors have also been populated.

And in addition to the merchant traffic, task forces for various nations have also been scripted to appear in-game.

As far as I know, IUB already includes version HT1.46. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

It is ABSOLUTELY MOST DEFINATELY worth waiting for. Should be out very shortly, in addition to my Soldati expansion pack.

Have to agree with Dowly. I've played alot before in the Med. in light of shorter patrols resulting in less entire evenings glued to the screen.

My experiences range from easy pickings to some very heavy aircover between Afrika and Sicily and around Malta(obviously). They've certainly been making the price a heavy one while taking many of our boats in the last few patrols in W@W if not just damaging them severely.

IUB 1.02 includes Harbour Traffic for RUb 1.46.
but its the Lite version as standard although it does include the Heavy Harbour Traffic version in the option folder that IUb creates.

just check the readme for IUB 1.02.

Yes, I just checked...it's already in, and the Heavy-option is also there. Nice to know.

Wilhemshaven is looking great.

The Med sounds cool to me...but I gotta wait a few years, lol.

...plus the good old escort!

But I can't wait for the Med...I want to try the water-mod that Markhimov made for it.

I've been in the Med and left again, but that was months ago before I knew about Markhimov's mod (*waits for God to strike me down*).
Heck its gonna be a long haul to get back there now.
