Default The useless "vote for Dangerous Waters" thread

Actually, it might be not that useless, as it might bring new players to the game.

Voodooextreme -a mainstream PC gaming website- is running their usual polls to designate the "best of the year" games. Dangerous Waters is indeed in the list for the "best simulation" award.

You can check this out, and vote for DW if you like at the following adress : http://ve3d.ign.com/articles/674/674996p1.html

Bringing new people into Naval Sims is good for everybody. Especially for the new players
Good stuff Cochonou.

Vote for Dangerous Waters.

I did, and I'd do it several more times if I could.

You know what they say, "Vote early and vote often." :rotfl:

Deep inside I prefer Falcon 4 (sorry guys) but I voted Dangeorus Waters because its an awesome sim.
Can't compete with eye candy at the Falcon4 or SH III levels but when it comes at multiplayer its a no brainer.
Dw rocks

Hmmmmmm, I will not transform this into a flame thread but suffice to say that Falcon 4 supports 32 bit color which DW dosen't (in windowed mode only 16bit graphics).
Falcon 4 supports not only anisotropic filtering but also anti-aliasing neither of which is even remotely supported in DW.
So Dw great game yes, great graphics hell no !

Why? I want to make this flame thread!

So what that DW doesnt support all that mumbo jumbo! Falcon 4 even with 32 bit color, anisotropic filtering and anti-aliasing doesnt look better than DW!

I 've never played sh3 before but falcon 4.0 I did and there's no way you can compare that to dw. On my opinion dw is the best of them all, gameplay wise. I don't know why some people always judge base on graphics which is all eye candy. It annoys me too when I couldn't run it on my system because it needs at least 1gb of ram and have a top of the line graphics card. And we all know how much a graphics card costs and memory card that's one of the reason why pc games are dwindling....

I looked at the list and voted for what I thought was the best simulation. I was a little saddened to see Dangerous Waters only had 306 at the time of my vote but I’m putting it down to people not knowing what it is. In my hart I know which of these games is a worthy winner. So I present Dangerous Waters with the world renowned and most converted ‘Winston Award’ for best simulation.

Sonalysts can put that on the box art if they wish.

:hmm: Heck these are tough calls.

The qualatative judgement just screwed so I am taking the quantative route.

Number of game versions on my HD:
DW - 4
Falcon - 2
Total War - 2

Proportion of time spent playing (hate that word !) 'Simulating' ?
More than 80% on DW.

So DW is the BIG WINNER.

And as for 'eye candy' - it would be very low on my list of priorities.

I think the number that you see in this poll, reflects mostly how distributed into the public the sims were. We all know that DW went retail only few days ago. Before that, only a small group of peoples owns this magnificent sim.

I've cast my vote for DW

Interesting how VBS didn't get a mention, again, maybe a distribution issue...

(the only other sim on my rig apart from DW...)

Guys,

I think we should be happy that Dangerous Waters has been mentioned together with SHIII and Falcon 4.0 taking into account that the game has been released in stores only recently...

I know that we may have different views on SHIII (...fantastic, boring, perfect, buggy, etc...) but it's out of discussion that FALCON 4.0 is a MILESTONE of simulation games. The neew release is excellent and it's being supported devotedly by Lead Pursuit...

Falcon 4.0 is the best but I've voted for Dangerous Waters!!!...
