Default run sh3 in separate window

Is there a way to run the game in a separate window, one I could view while performing other tasks in windows?

Would you be able to perform other tasks while playing this game? I mean this thing is a system hog. Not sure you'd get good performance outof anything, including SH3 if you try and multitask.

Tick the window option and off you go. This of course makes it less than full screen, which I prefer and have been doing since day one.

I can surf the net, work on the Not Your Grand Mothers Ship Damage Mod etc.

Surf the 'net?!?! Gee, if I tried that with SH3 running...

I have to run EndItAll or start with a selective startup first to get SH3 going smoothly.

Of course, your main reason for running in a Window is to ensure your patrol log is kept right up to date as you sail, isn't it?

Hello,
no problem here, i'm running SH3 and hit Ctrl + Esc to switch to the desktop, where i can surf the internet and e.g. post msgs here
I even have Word and some minor progs running, i do not run SH3 in window mode though ... and the game simply stops until switching back to it.
AMD 3000+, ATI radeon 9600, 756 Mb Ram here.
Greetings,
Catfish

LOL I am currently playing SHIII (i.e. running tests), and I also have open, Netscape, SHIII mission editor (for testing mod) Outlook, explorer, excel, word and adobe photo paint all on two monitors.

To change it to windows mode...
Option... Video Settings... untick full screen...

I love the way it keeps playing when not the active window.

Yep, being doing the window trick myself, while doing other things on the pc.

Sh3 runs just fine this way.

Just had my first fatality while running the game like this. There I was sailing brazenly on the surface during the day, working on some billing, when suddenly a liberator drops a bomb that liberates my boat's insides from the outside. Too bad there's no sound when the game isn't the active window.
