Serious RUB 1.45 problem

Hello, this is my first post (it only took me a couple of weeks :P)

Anyway, I seem to be having a major problem with RuB and I'm on the verge of going insane, I've been flipping through all the threads that somehow mention RuB and troubleshooting but either I missed one or I am experiencing a unique problem.

I use JGSME (of course) I've put RuB in the mods folder e:\x\x\silenthunter\mods\rub\data--etc. So far I know I've done everything right, after that I load the mod in JGSME and when I try to start the game I get a black screen and that's it. Nothing happens, zero, squat nada. So I thought to myself perhaps I have been doing something wrong after all, so I unload the mod and try to start the game and voila! It works (without the mod of course

)

So - does anyone have a suggestion to what may solve this delicate problem ?

You have patched up to 1.4b ??? Almost all mods made are for the 1.4b patch.

Naturally, I've followed all the instructions precisely. This is really getting on my nerves

Are you using any other mods previously installed? Some can cause compatibility issues. If you are using SH3 commander you need to do a roll back before adding any mods.

Some people have this problem after installing RUb. It seems related to the zero length movie files which overwrite the default files (a simulated way of removing the files to speed up loading). Try:

1. Disabling RUb in JSGME
2. Deleting the two files under ..\SilentHunterIII\MODS\RUb1.45\data\Movies\Intro
3. Re-enabling RUb in JSGME

This (hopefully) should get you going.

Ahhh, thank you so much

It is working great now, my next step is learning how to inflict hits with the damn torpedos :P My hit rate must be something like 20%, the metallic noise of a torpedo wasted makes me sooooo maaaaad.
