This game is missing some realistic Morse communication with Bdu. Maybe one of the other internal sub sounds can be replaced, or a sound added?
In any event, I've made a *somewhat* accurate and I feel realistic sounding Morse WAV file which runs about 2:06 in length. "What" exactly to send came from this interesting web site- http://www.codesandciphers.org.uk/enigmafilm/index.htm My Morse WAV file is found here- www.delraydepot.com/tt/morse.wav Some detail- The contact signals from U-boats were short signals sent by radio. They were short to avoid the radio signals being direction found from the UK. The contact signals were composed by the U-boat operator using a signal code book and then enciphered on his Enigma machine. The main body of the signal text was only 22 characters long, and it was sent in 4 letter code groups. Example- SC28/04/43 0940 7369 A348 LQB 0910/28/04/43 QGMI VVEE SERQ YGBW IAHK HW In the Morse WAV supplied, I've simulated a U-Boat transmission with Bdu, and a response. It includes radio static crashes. The first Morse you hear is the U-Boat transmission. The second is Bdu replying, a weaker and wavering signal. Totally accurate or not, it might be fun to add to the game in some capacity. If anybody wants have a crack at that, feel free to use the file. TT |
