Default I see dead peop... ekhem... Hurricanes!

Ahoy, fellow aquanauts

I have noticed something strange happening with the RAF lately. It seems, that all other planes are fighting the great Battle of Britain, cause all I ever see are Hurricanes! Hurricanes for breakfast, Hurricanes for lunch, Hurricanes for dinner... It's already September of 1941 and I've never seen any other plane yet (if not to count Ju-87's and Ju-88's stealing my best prey). As I remember my first campaign with v1.0 of the game, at this time there should be at least some Sunderlands in the air. Is the timeline of aircraft appearance altered in the v1.4, or is my game somehow corrupted? It's vanilla v1.4.

I'm not complaining that much, as the Hurricanes are really lame - they simply fly forth and back and after some time just drop their single bomb, missing in 99% of the time. And, what's really stupid, they never use their 20mm cannons. They surely should've - those runs back and forth simply points, that they were supposed to fire at me, but having fixed barrels they just cannot aim, as every other plane with turrets does. Instead of being fearsome fighters ther'e just little, pesky flies, quite hard to shoot down, due to their high velocities. Especially 'cause the v1.4 seems to give me flakgunners with astigmatism. I've even doubled the ammo quantity for flaks to keep those Hurricanes away from me. I do not consider it as a cheat, rather... erm... a necessary countermeasure

The hurricanes werent upgraded to the 4xhispano 20mm cannon in 1941 (the Hurricane IIC)...and although I doubt the game models cannons VS machine guns, the .303's they used originally would do little other than wound people in the conning tower or elsewhere above decks. Maybe they didnt model strafing into the hurricanes?

I really cant say, and althought useless this insight may be, it came to mind. Ive never been strafed by a hurri.

I've been, on a few occasions. Can't remember if they actually strafed anywhere near England but they sure did at Bay of Gibraltar. The only wounded guy I've was hit by one of them. And yes, they could've chosen some other planes instead of Hurris.

Tempests with rockets, that'd liven things up a bit

Dof, the 1942 began and I have what I wanted. Now I'm attacked by Swordfishes, Sunderlands and of course Hurricanes. Yay!
With my type IX/III conning tower I don't even bother diving to hide from incoming airplanes. Type IX sub sinks so slow, that my flak firepower, manned by four PO's specialized in flaks, is a good alternative. On my last patrol I've had more renown from shooting planes than from sinking ships! Now my greatest concern is not to get sunk by a falling Sunderland...
